WhatPulse 2.5

There have been a lot of requests from users to be able to differentiate between your mouse buttons. Basically to see how dominant a mouse button is. We listened and integrated a ‘Mouse Button Heat-map’ into version 2.5! Of course that is not all, there are some other neat changes, like the ability to ignore network interface and a white W menu icon for the Mac OS X users with the black theme. Computer Specifications

Computers have always been around in your user profile, but with this update they have gotten their own spotlight. Starting today, each computer has it’s own page, displaying its statistics and specifications. This is an awesome way to zoom in on your stats on a per computer basis.

The specifications are currently limited to what the client detects, but we’re open to suggestions for additions in the future!

One thing to note is that this page is under control of your own privacy settings and has been turned off by default. You can turn this feature on for your computers in your Privacy Settings.

Teams in the Weekly Updates

The Weekly Updates have been a big hit (81% of you love them) and the most requested addition was weekly team updates. This has been in beta for a few weeks now, but as of today it is fully integrated.

Other Stuff

Only the most exciting features have been highlighted, but there are a few other gems in todays update, such as a new registration page and follower management. Check the full release notes for all of them here!

The WhatPulse client has lost some weight, we sent it to the gym. On Windows and OS X, it has lost around 45% of its footprint on your computer. It is also using that same 45% less in RAM memory. Some people had an issue where it could use up to 200–300MB RAM, they will see it drop to around 15–20MB. We’ve also added a cleaner for your database, as those could become rather large. The client will now by default save all the mouse clicks for your heat map of the last 3 months and delete the older ones (just the heat map clicks), which reduces the size about 80%. There’s also an option not to do this, if you don’t care about the size of your database.

There’s also something new that we’re pretty excited about. Courtesy of pointychimp, you can now add ‘Rates’ to your Geek Window. Rates are values for per second statistics, possibilities are keys, clicks, download and upload rate per second.

Due to popular demand and the general awesomeness of Stripe, a direct payment gateway, we have added an alternative to PayPal to become a premium member. Stripe enables you to bill your card directly, without needing an account like you do with PayPal. It has never been easier to subscribe to our premium services!

Introducing a new Profile Editor

Starting now, you have the possibility to edit your profile directly from your profile page, using an editor on steroids. You can easily insert personal statistics, display images, easily format text and even play around with the HTML (for advanced users).

You can find it directly on your profile page, under your avatar. Have a go!

Help Center Redesign

The Help Center as also been redesigned to put focus on the content and remove any distracting functions. If you’re looking for anything related to our software or website features, finding it in the Help Center will be a breeze.

Other Changes

We’ve also pushed a number of other changes to the website, such as sub-team descriptions. Click here for a full list!

The export functionalities can be found on every interface page where you can retrieve data with history. You can also use the shiny new Export Wizard and export anything you want. There have been a lot of requests for this feature and we can’t wait to see what you guys do with it! Whatever you do, please share it with us!

WhatPulse 2.4 also brings a ton of new and improved features. There have been a lot of minor, subtle changes, a few bug fixes, all good stuff. We encourage you to look at the release notes below.
