Title: Windows b6 - Network
Threaded Mode
#1
...starting a new thread for the new version if that's okay:

Network usage oddity:
The total down/up and the values on Network-Tab count all network traffic, but "unpulsed" seems to only count the external traffic. And it seems as if even some programs (like PuTTY) are totally excluded as others (FileZilla) which use the same protocol (SSH -- or FTP over SSH) work. Is this happening on purpose?

Well, I'd rather to have multiple threads, 1 per bug/report, but I let the other way go. ;-)

It's not on protocol, it's per IP range. The 'normal' (per app, per interface) bandwidth is everything, the bandwidth sent to the website is only external traffic. It looks if the source (when incoming) or destination (when outgoing) is an martian (internal) IP.

Hmmm... okay... that's sad, because I have a lot of internal traffic Wink but okay... external traffic is more comparable Wink

however... one thing I found out with my setup somehow circumvents this sort of filter:
I've got a dyndns address... my router translates that and does not route this to the internet and back... but it doesn't do so by resolving it to the internal address... but since this is only for http(s) it shouldn't be that much of a difference... and I think you wouldn't be able to spot this...

If one would really want to rank up on bandwidth, all they'd have to do is put a traffic generator on their computer. This filter is merely to stop counting traffic where people move massive files internally.
