WhatPulse 2.1 Beta 1 can be downloaded from these links:
http://files.whatpulse.org/beta/whatpulse-mac-2.1b1.dmg http://files.whatpulse.org/beta/whatpulse-win-2.1b1.exe http://files.whatpulse.org/beta/whatpuls...1b1.tar.gz http://files.whatpulse.org/beta/whatpuls...1b1.tar.gz - You can now see your keys/clicks on a per application basis. - The login procedure has been simplified to be a breeze. You can add computers from the wizard and it auto detects your computer name. - Revamped database control; this means the database is more stable, secure and doesn't interfere with your input. (freezing) - Network monitoring performance has been improved. - There is now a client updater included, which will notify you when a new version is released and will show the changes made. On OSX and Windows, it can automatically update the client. - On Linux, the client will check whether it has the proper permissions for network monitoring and ask you whether it should correct those permissions. - On Windows, there is a new option to run the client as administrator. This will allow the client to catch keys/clicks in applications that are also running as administrator. (enable this option when not all keys/clicks are counted) - Many, many, many, many small tweaks and fixes. There has gone a lot of work into making the client more stable and having a smaller footprint on your system. Please have a go at this first draft of 2.1 and tell us what you think! If you have an issue to report, please create a separate thread, thank you. |

RE: WhatPulse 2.1b1
Do we have to install this or will the program auto update? I am asking because the Facebook post said it was "beta".

There is currently no updater in 2.0, that is exactly one of the features this new one introduces. And yes, it is a beta (you're in the Beta forum :-)), so 2.0.4 will not get a notification that there is a new version just yet. |

So is it safe for me to continue running the version I have until this new version (2.0.4) comes out in official release? |

RE: WhatPulse 2.1b1
This version seems to alleviate the crashes on Windows 8. I have two machines running this beta and neither client has had a crash once in 8 hours. On 2.04, it wouldn't last longer than 6 minutes. Great job!

From WinPcap's Change Log page ( http://www.winpcap.org/misc/changelog.ht...elog_4_1_3 ): Quote:Version 4.1.3, 08 mar 13 I'm using that version of WinPcap on my Windows 8 machine and it tracks the network usage fine. Thanks for the beta though! It fixed the problem I was having that WhatPulse would "reset" every time I started it, asking for login details again. I like the streamlined login too - very clever! |

RE: WhatPulse 2.1b1
This is awesome, I'm glad there's no input lag anymore. Bandwidth counting seems to be more accurate, too.
