Found this in my debug log

Whatpulse flooding connections?
It's supposed to do it every 7 hrs. And it appears that your WP is failing to receive the return messages. Could be due to router or your internet connection, however it's set up. It's hard to tell.

v1.6.2.1 on this computer. Other one runs 1.7 I believe. Not fired it up in a while. But irregardless, I doubt they changed the code for it. But it's possible. bobL or wasted, chime in?

Happens with my 1.7 as well.
Could be internet issues, but it seems unlikely. |
