The new design (by Yannick) has (finally) been implemented. There were several reasons why it took so long, but I do apologize for the delay.
It is possible that there are some areas of the website that do not display properly (ugly font, etc), please let me know if you find anything!
Next to the website, here are a few updates of other projects going on:
- Linux client
Staykovmarin has taken it upon him to developer us a Linux client. And, he's almost done with it! So far the client has a GUI for most WM's, and is ready to pulse. The ETA should be a few weeks.
- Mac client
Development of the Mac client has been restarted, and looks good so far. I should have more on this in a few weeks.
- Windows client
The Gambler and HedgeHog have picked up where I left off on the Windows client. Mostly concerning the security, and lag of 1.5. Their progress looks good so far, and I believe they will have something soon.
- Website
Well, as you see, the new design has been uploaded. With this change, I also want to involve a few more people into the development of the website.
There are -a lot- of ideas floating around for it; the main things being a total overhaul to separate design and code (using smarty templates), database redesign for speed, using caching, dynamic graphs, expanding the premium services, and a lot more.
If you are a webdeveloper (PHP/MySQL), recognize any of above terms, and want to help WhatPulse out; send me an email at wasted@whatpulse.org.
To be continued!

Very nice! :-)
I was a litle bit confused, but its nice
Yes, it is very nice!
Another thing that's nice is that there is movement between all the WP clients, the website
Good job guys!!
(Especially Yannick =])
Nice, cannot wait for the linux client. Is there something like a beta test possible
and where do I sign up
.
Excellent! The long wait really paid off!
Looks very nice! now the Linux client
There's a couple of bugs, for example, longer usernames go outside the table at the top. I'm assuming the bugs will be fixed as they are noticed?
Looking forward to the Linux client.
Nice design
Small bug: when you first login, the box on the logo strip shows all your keys/clicks/miles as 0.
-- Small bug: when you first login, the box on the logo strip shows all your keys/clicks/miles as 0. --
That's not a bug. I think, the code isn't designed for ajax reloading, it just gets the keys and klicks on the refresh of the page.
Good design. Also good news on the linux client ^^
Nice new layout, and I can't wait for the Linux client release.

In fact, after some searching, I found this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/linpulse/
Unfortunately, there's nothing on it at all yet. No binaries, no source, nothing.
The new website looks really slick. I'll be looking forward to the linux version as well.
I'll be reporting any bugs I see =) good job!
Hm, and finally nofollow on the profile pages... the design is cool though.
You mean to say there's an ACTUAL linux client? I thought it was something fictional like the Loch Ness monster or Bigfoot. Can't wait for this.
nice job, guys
That is HOT.
sweet
Long usernames go outside of the box at the top (the userstatswrap). The fix is simple, just remove the padding-left from the "userstatswrap dd" class. (padding-left: 73px; ).
Hope this helps.
Very nice!
That's the way I like it
Very nice.
very nice...
with linux version will be perfect
can't wait for a linux version!
Wow. When is the next version for windows is coming out?
The new design is beautiful. Nice job.
Looking great
.
And where can the Mac version be downloaded, im new on this site, and still not sure whether its still under development or that theres a hidden button somewhere.
It's still under development like the news item stated (development restarted, within some weeks there should be more news about it)
I can't wait for the Mac Client!
hey, we are waiting too long!!1
we want Linux client!
Too many keys are lost.. =/
Patience grasshoppers, it's coming
We await patiently... With pitchforks
Small bug: When I refreshed a page it said I had to be logged in to view it. (Not the bug), here it is:

Any news/ETA on the linux client?

it's been a little more then few weeks from november 18th.
If I had to guess i'd say expect some news this week,,,but don't quote me on that ;o)
Linux client PLEASE!!! I'm dual booting & keep going back to ubuntu to send some pulses! Pretty please!
How long is this still gonna take?!
This post is almost 3 months old!!
On the forums, there's an alpha release available of the Mac client. This wasn't posted on the main site because it isn't meant for stable use, just for testing.
I think the Linux client is going to be bundled with Duke Nukem Forever at this rate... =[
Duke Nukem Forever will be released this year normally :p
If any of you out there can code and would like to help out please please contact wasted

If all you want to do is piss and moan,,, well, use the forums for that please
I would love to help out, with the "beta testing," *ahem*
Moosey, Beta test the mac client ;p *points at the forums*
I still prefer the old design, i think this one is a bit too OTT.
Rob
Any news about the Linux client? :-\
It's almost half a year from the release of this post :-D
Nice job
The Linux client has taken up a "It's ready when it's ready" stance.

All I can say to you all is, "Buy a Mac"
How about an update on the Vista client? I've been waiting FOREVER to get WhatPulse back on my main machine!
What is this side only in the English for?
Looking really forward to the linux client - finally it comes!!
Okay. The only thing that pisses me off about WhatPulse, is that your last news post was a year ago, almost exactly. Where's the Linux client promised? Where's any progress, cancellations, any info at all on what's going on? Was there only a sole owner of WhatPulse, and he died? Do something to make us think you're alive!
*** Because I only really care about the Linux client, if I make one myself, will it be hosted here, if quality enough? Will the site even accept my pulses if I make a Linux client? Someone message me. I'll start checking back on the website for messages for the next couple of weeks. If I don't get a response, I'll be rather disheartened about the whole WhatPulse thing. It's really cool and all, but there's no activity other then automated stats changes.
Hi SnoFox,
I understand your frustration fully. Wasted (head geek) is still alive but he's a very busy man. I'm hoping that very, very soon someone will post some solid updates.
In regards to the Linux client, it is already basically done so there's no point in making another, it just needs to get uploaded.
I'll do my best for you and everyone else that loves WhatPulse so much but don't lose faith just yet!
Oh, and as for a 'Vista Client', I don't believe the next minor release of WhatPulse for Windows will fix it, however the one after it should. Don't ask me for dates, don't give up about it not being in the next release, but there are fixes for Vista & 1.5 problems mentioned in the Knowledge Base and forums. (KB Article found here: http://whatpulse.org/kb/idx.php/5/031/Windows/article/WhatPulse-15-and-Windows-Vista.html)
Scrap that, the next version should fix it. Still, no asking for dates!
Hmm.. with bobL's posing on the linux client being basically done, it'll be nice to see when it's up for download.
It amazes me how this many people (including myself) still use WP even after more than a year of no front page activity...
I agree with you Magewout. I feel the same way...
How is the Mac client coming along, as I got a new (Mac) laptop yesterday, so I can't pulse for my team anymore until I get the new Mac client?!
There is a beta Mac client available in the forums
It'd be nice to see some confirmation that the Admins still care about the project.
We do. But that's about all I'm allowed to say at present.
'In regards to the Linux client, it is already basically done so there's no point in making another, it just needs to get uploaded.'
Right.
Uploading takes over 4 months?
Getting ratty won't make it come any faster...
That's not my question.
If you say 'In regards to the Linux client, it is already basically done so there's no point in making another, it just needs to get uploaded.' 4 months ago, and it's still not uploaded, there are 2 options:
a) You lied
b) You lied
c) You lied
d) You got a ISP with 0.0624133811231 bytes a second upload.
I concur.
Or e) The Linux client is finished and it just needs to be uploaded.
I just so happen to know more than you about that subject unfortunately so please refrain from calling me a liar.
Sure, in which case your answer is D, seeing it takes 4 months to upload.
Or we have other reasons as to why we haven't released it, none of which you've supplied?
Feel free to share them, I believe I speak for all Linux users that we want to know why it's taking so long.
I'm not at liberty to say, and nor is anyone else until there is an official news post.
isn't whatpulse free? am i missing something because it looks to me like people are demanding answers to a service which is provided free of charge.. which in my eyes is stupid, if you're paying for a product then you have the right to get arsy when something isn't done, but when it's free?
amusing is all!
