WhatPulse 1.4.6

Posted on 3rd October 2004, 15:25:42

Add a bugfix here, a bugfix there, and you get WhatPulse 1.4.6. The main problem which was focused on was the loss of speed, during games for instance, or the geek window freezing for a second when you close it.

There are a few more bugfixes, but nothing noticable or worth mentionable, in any case, you should get this upgrade once again!

It is still doing lag to input, slow key reading, during Stepmania, which... is bad because tempo is the main part of that game.

It seems to do -ok- in CS, but it still lags some. It's still kinda bad in more advanced games though.

Stepmania works for me perfectly @ Morimame
CS and every other game also does NOT lag ... maybe its your pc configuration -.-

It runs fine as soon as I turn the program off, so it can't be my computer configuration...

Diddo here, and I'm running on a pretty fast computer. It works fine for me on standard songs but when I go for heavy or oni mode, it's got nothing. Bast 8 feet it can't keep up.

maybe it helps when i'm posting my configuration :P

    AMD 3000+, 2009MHz
    Infineon DDR400, 1024 MB
    NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900XT

I'm running nvidia.com drivers version 56.72 and DirectX 9.0b. I have Windows XP Professional ServicePack 1 ... in some reasons SP2 does not work with stepmania correctly. maybe thats a reason.

in stepmania options you can turn some things off, like "wait for vsync" or u switch the grafic details lower than normal.

with the upper configuration it works for me with no lags, leaks or something ... i play it sometimes when i'm ripping dvds and that without lags ... and i don't play easy songs with my fingers. 9 foot is the minimum in original konami songs i play.

hmm .. maybe that helps the stepmania guys a little bit and try to play it with ur foot, it makes much more fun :)

*is running stepmania at 640 resolution with the new whatpulse and is experiencing the aforementioned horrible lag*

at 1.4 it was fine, but with 1.4.6 running AA's on 11-footers are a thing of the past. I was just ownzed by Battle Ax to the point of getting a B, and am saddened :p

Hmm, I think I'll go and try UT2K4 and CS out, see how they work out...

kinda bad when a very simple game like elasto mania has tons of input lag when Whatpulse is running. i NEVER had this problem with 1.3 . you guys oughtta check the code again and try and fix this. id hate to see my 1067th rank go into the crapper because i have whatpulse closed 95% of the time.

im sorry if this seemed like a b!tch post, just annoyed is all.

I got StepMania to work with 1.4.6.

I've got a hell of a system over here, and it didn't work, but it does now. A little bit of code alerting inside of StepMania and it works again. ~_~

Also, update your video card, that helped a little for me, as well as ensuring I had the newest version of StepMania.

But in the end, to get it to work the best, I coded inside of StepMania a little bit and got it to work without a problem now.

I liked an old 1.3* version I had, I never had problems with it in cs but now with this new version my clicks and keys lag.

I click shoot or whatever then all of a sudden like 10 seconds later tah tah tah it does what I wanted 10 seconds ago a little late.

I disable whatpulse during games now. =/

Every morning I come into the office and get the dialog box "No DATAe". I am guessing because it has pulsed overnight and there are no keys or clicks to send (I pulse hourly).

    How irritating.

My old client was fine :-(

Is pulsing disabled right now? I tried pulsing today for the first time since I've upgraded, and it said i had to wait 60 seconds to pulse again. So I waited a few minutes and tried again, and then it said I had to wait an hour or so. Now, a few hours later, I try again, and it says "Server msg: Pulsing has been disabled for a few hours, please try again tomorrow."

I'm beginning to wonder if there is some kind of problem with my pulse. Has anyone else been having these problems today?

no. pulsing is disabled. i think its to straighten out this lag issue.

very annoying. i used to be in the 900 area for rank, now im 1102nd. now, if this lag was never an issue, whatpulse would be running 24/7 like it should and id still be in that 900 area.
