WhatPulse 1.4

Posted on 10th September 2004, 12:22:25

After rain comes sun...at least, it does here. But before I give you a complete meteorological report..let's sum up a few of the new features WhatPulse 1.4 brings.

The most important fix in 1.4 is that it no longer freaks out when using applications such as remote desktop. This has been done with removing DirectX from the main core, so WhatPulse 1.4 is no longer dependant on DirectX aswell.

Other features:

- Geek window remembers its position when it's closed and reopenend.
- Pulse timers are redone, you can now specify the ammount of hours you want to pulse (default to manual pulsing)
- Added pulse per xx clicks. Guess what this does.
- Display UserID in account dialog.

Please update to this new version, you will not be able to use WhatPulse 1.3 in exactly one month (untill 2004-10-10), so this gives you enough time to update.

To install, please pulse, exit WhatPulse, then delete C:\Program Files\WhatPulse (or somewhere else you specified), and then run the installer for 1.4. People tend to forget this.

If you're using the keyfrequency function, please delete the keyfreq.bin file aswell.

Geek window does not appear when opening it. I had to go into geek window settings, and turn up the transparency from 0%, and then down to 0 again.

Not that I ever use the 'Geek Window'.. 0:)

for my usage of whatpulse there aren't any new changes.. except that my cheat doesn't work anymore... no.. just a joke =)
but as I said I'm gonna use it just like version 1.3, except that the 3 is removed and there is a 4 on the splash screen.. :)

When I try to open whatpulse, it says:
"a required .dll file, dinput8.dll, was not found".

I'm glad you're updating this, it's a shame that all the original Project Dolphin spinoffs have yet to be updated.

Is v 1.4 required to pulse and update signature images now?

Signatures have nothing to do with your client, but however you should upgrade, pulsing with 1.3 (or lower) will be disabled in a few weeks.

After installing the new version of whatpulse though, my computer experienced a severe slowdown. Once I exited WP, it automatically kicked it back to normal speed. Is there a problem with my computer or something about that?

Aquafire - I get exactly the same problem. Wondered what the hell it was and finally narrowed it down to WP.

    Any help anyone? :\

dunce>> It was exactly as wasted mentioned there. In order for WP to work correctly, you need to delete the old Whatpulse.bin file after uninstalling the old version and before installing the new version.

Or... if your computer is slow like mine was, uninstall 1.4, delete whatpulse.bin , and try to reinstall 1.4.

Not every user checks the news posts every day/week, so a month is just to inform all users.

There should be an in-program dialog that shows up when you pulse with 1.3 that says there's a new version. Also, a nice functionality would be a scroll counter (mid mouse scroll that is).

Otherwise, you have a really nice program here.

My computer is still slow, though I uninstalled WhatPulse, then deleted the whole left \WhatPulse
directory and installed the new one. Any ideas?

My omly suggestion is that the pulses that make it onto the top ten lists for pulse size are kept so that it records best overall pulse, not best in that month. Although best pulse of the month would make a good stats category.
