WhatPulse 1.3

Posted on 15th May 2004, 10:24:25

After a while, WhatPulse 1.3 is now public, this new version exists around a make-over of the geek window mostly, along with security.

The geek window has had a complete make-over, including transparency (only Windows 2000/XP) and adjustable colors. There's a configuration menu especially for the geek window, where the workings of the colors are explained.

The entire WhatPulse program can now adjust to your Windows theme aswell.

Last, but not least, WhatPulse 1.3 now features with an extra option called 'Key frequencies'. This feature counts how often a single key gets pressed, and makes a list of these. (This list can be exported to a HTML page aswell!).

Note that this feature is only locally, and none of this info gets sent to the server, and is disabled by default.

The server-side script for 1.2.1 won't be going anywhere, the 1.0 and 1.1 versions where disabled for serious exploit reasons.

Quick question: what does "klp" in the Geek Window stand for?

Ah, I'm guessing "keys last pulse". Right?

I think this feature wouldn't associate anything with whatpulse any more...
wasted would have to code a little uploading feature... you would have to set up much more things...
just save it and upload it yourself? it wouldn't take more than 2 minutes! or are you a bit lazy? :P

The key frequency thing is bloody awesome, but how about an XML export function instead of HTML export? And maybe have it export automatically after a set period of time -- then I can just set up a timed script to upload that to my server (I want to put my key frequencies on my web site -- how dorky is that?).

    WhatPulse is wicked.

Well, not instead, maybe as additional..but not instead. ;o)

Since alot of users have been requesting a timed save..it's been put on the todo list. However a FTP function won't get there.

    Nice!

But wouldn´t it be nice to allow us to control how much time is between pulsing?

I mean, a box to write the number and next to that window is a dropdown list where you can choose between Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days and Weeks.

You write 50 into the box and choose Minutes.
That means WP pulses every 50 minutes.

And also it´d be nice to have automatic fixing for that feature.
What I mean is, lets say you write 60 into the box and choose Minutes.
The automatic fixing will automaticly change that from 60 Minutes to 1 Hours.

i really hate that new geek window... these abbreviations really suck... there should be option to use new/old geek window display

and WP should be multilanguage... i have always translated the program into my native language... using some programs... :)
