Not quite yet, but honestly, I'm thinking about it.

Debugging things on Linux takes way too long to do - especially if these types of things work perfectly in a test environment I've set up and every time a new version is released, a bunch of different configurations/distros seem to have different issues.

As far as I can tell, only open sourcing (so the client can be compiled on each system individually) will definitely fix issues like these. But I can't do that, as that would wreak havoc on the competitive aspect of WhatPulse.

I think I'll broadcast a request for a Linux developer to help out, because I can't justify the time that's needed to get the Linux client on a solid basis, compared to our total user base. (Linux has a whopping 2% share of usage, while it's probably double the time investment needed to get and keep it running smoothly).

To be continued!

Ok that's really sad to hear Sad.
But understandable so I really hope you will find someone to help out.
Because my main OS is Linux and I've been using WhatPulse for a long time and now stopping with WhatPulse just because of that would be really sad.
But again understandable.

RE: Trouble with Ubuntu 18.10
Have you considered using a more generic portable packaging format like AppImage or Flatpak? They make it easier to create standalone applications without relying on system libraries.

There are some in the community who grumble about that but it's a far simpler solution for a developer.

You could just downgrade the linux version back to 2.8.3 and leave it at that for the time being and just leave it at that until you look to push out a 2.9 or something.

RE: Trouble with Ubuntu 18.10
You could release the client opensource AND remove linux users from ranking.
I do not care at all about ranking, i only want my stats.
